Let’s Talk About Price?

My father, a retired cabinet maker with over 40 years of experience, always said, “It’s your kitchen and bathrooms that sell your home.” And he was right. While cabinets certainly add value, it’s important to consider whether the cost of your investment makes sense for your goals. That’s why we’ve created this page—to give you a simple tool to estimate how much a set of cabinets might cost from us.

Please note: this is not an official quote. It’s simply a starting point, designed to help you calculate a rough price range so you can make an informed decision that works for your space and budget.

Other Costs to Consider

To get a true understanding of what a remodel will cost, you have to consider the project in its entirety. Alongside the cabinets themselves, you’ll likely incur costs for demolition and disposal, countertops, and backsplash installation. If you opt for under-cabinet lighting, there may be associated electrical and drywall work. Thinking about adding an island? That might require additional plumbing or electrical. Your flooring also matters: if it butts up against the cabinet toe kicks, you’ll want to take extra care during removal to avoid damaging tile. If the cabinets sit on top of the flooring, and you change the layout, you may be left with exposed flooring that needs to be patched or replaced.

Additionally, think about painting touch-ups and whether any plumbing will need to be moved or repaired. Before you begin, write out the full scope of your project. Then start gathering quotes—ideally from at least three companies per item. This approach gives you a realistic picture of what you’re investing in, beyond just the cabinetry.

Our Cabinet Lines

We offer three distinct cabinet options to meet a variety of design preferences and budget needs: Face Frame, Full Overlay, and Pre-Fabricated.

  • Face Frame (FF) cabinets are fully custom and built with a solid wood frame on the front of the cabinet box. The doors are mounted to this frame, leaving about a 1” reveal between them. This style offers added visual depth and a traditional, timeless appearance. Because it involves more material and labor, it’s the most expensive of our three options—but also the strongest and most versatile in terms of customization.

  • Full Overlay (O-LAY) cabinets are also fully custom, but they differ in construction. There is no face frame; instead, the cabinet doors and drawer fronts overlay the box, leaving only 1/8” reveals between them. This design creates a sleek, flat surface ideal for more modern aesthetics. Since they require less material and labor than Face Frame cabinets, Full Overlay cabinets come in at a lower price point while still offering full customization.

  • Pre-Fabricated (P-FAB) cabinets are semi-custom and made by Northpoint Cabinetry. Like our custom Face Frame cabinets, they are built with solid wood frames and plywood boxes—not particle board. They come pre-finished in limited colors (white or gray paint, and three stain options) and are manufactured in 3” width increments. By limiting the range of sizes and finishes, these cabinets can be mass-produced and sold at a significantly lower price point than fully custom options. We’re proud to offer them because they strike a great balance between quality and affordability.

No matter which cabinet line you choose, one thing stays the same: our commitment to craftsmanship and delivering a product you’ll be proud to have in your home.

What’s Included in Our Estimates

We use a simple multiplier system to help you get a ballpark estimate of your cabinetry costs. These multipliers are designed to reflect our starting packages and include many standard features.

For Face Frame and Full Overlay projects, our base estimates include painting and installation, Armorite doors and drawer fronts, plywood drawer boxes joined with butt joints, adjustable shelves where applicable, and single-piece crown moulding.

For Pre-Fabricated projects, the cabinets are fully finished and installed, with solid wood frame doors, hardwood dovetail drawer boxes, adjustable shelves, and single-piece crown moulding.

Available Upgrades

We offer a wide range of upgrades that can enhance your cabinetry both visually and functionally. For Face Frame and Full Overlay cabinets, popular upgrades include solid wood framed doors, dovetailed drawer boxes, roll-out pantry shelves, decorative panel ends, multi-piece crown moulding, and island enhancements like bar skirts, panel wraps, and column trim. Additional upgrades include ceiling-height cabinetry, trash pull-outs, spice racks, cookie sheet dividers, built-in appliance accommodations, etc.

Pre-Fabricated cabinets are also upgradeable. One unique option available for these is our in-house assembly service. While factory-assembled units are simply stapled together, we can order them unassembled and reinforce them with glue and staples in our shop for approximately $40 per cabinet. This creates stronger joints and a cleaner interior finish.

Cabinet Pricing Multipliers

To estimate your cabinet cost, measure the linear feet of each type of cabinet in your project—base, upper, and tall. Then multiply those measurements by the rates below:

Cabinet Style Base Upper Tall
Face Frame (FF) $301 $254 $602
Full Overlay (O-LAY) $245 $211 $490
Pre-Fabricated (P-FAB) $196 $165 $390

Base cabinets are floor-mounted and include bathroom vanities and islands. Our standard island is one row of base cabinets with a finished back and sides. If you want a two-sided island or deeper design, you’ll need to double the linear footage. For islands with shallow cabinets on the back, you can count the rear side in the upper cabinet category.

Upper cabinets typically include all 36” wall cabinets as well as cabinets above the fridge or microwave.

Tall cabinets include floor-to-ceiling units such as pantries, linens, or oven towers.

So, How Much Does a Cabinet Job Cost?

Here’s an example based on a typical 1,800 square foot, 3-bedroom, 2-bath home. The kitchen included an L-shaped layout with a standard island, two bathroom vanities, and a set of upper cabinets in the laundry room. The total linear footage came to 30 feet of base cabinets and 27 feet of upper cabinets, with no tall cabinets. The customer selected Face Frame cabinets, and their total cost was $15,500. Using our multipliers, the pricing for the same layout would range from approximately $10,605 for Pre-Fabricated cabinets to $13,557 for Full Overlay, and up to $15,888 for Face Frame.

By offering three different cabinet lines, we’re able to accommodate a wide range of budgets and preferences. What remains consistent is our dedication to quality, attention to detail, and ensuring that you are thrilled with the final product.

We would love the opportunity to build for you.
